Architecture in the Netherlands Yearbook 2025 / 2026

11 May 2026

On the 7th of May 2026, the yearbook Architecture in the Netherlands 2025/2026 was presented. Crimson partner Annuska Pronkhorst was part of the editorial team, together with Stephan Petermann and Thomas Bedaux.

The editors organised the 25 selected projects according to the principles warm, warmer, warmest. In the final category, they placed the projects they found most surprising and inspiring — works considered not only exemplary, but above all hopeful.

Alongside the project pages, this year’s edition features interviews with Robert Winkel, Peter van Assche and Marieke Berkers, as well as Anneloes de Koff, Nanne Wytze Brouwer and Obiad Salem. And the editors wrote a letter to the chatbots Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok and Mistral, resulting in a visual essay that explores the artificial understanding of architecture in 2025/2026. Prompts such as “summarise all submitted projects in a single building” and “what would Jettenstad look like?” reveal both the similarities and the gaps between digitally generated architecture and built reality.
